Island Hopping

We almost missed the boat again! The alarm woke us up on time and our campsite couldn’t have been any closer to the ferry terminal. It was the rain that lured us into a second sleep and my alarm doesn’t have a snooze function on it. Added to this, our motorhome is very cozy inside especially when it is pouring with rain. All the cardboard food drops scattered around make it even more cramped and cozy. There was absolutely not hope for us this morning.

For the last three days it has rained quite heavily and as a result we didn’t see much when we crossed the Cook Strait on board the Interislander ferry. We were hoping to get a look at the Queen Charlotte Track which we’ll be hiking in early January next year but hopefully our next ferry crossing will take place in better weather.
